In 1998, I travelled to Calcutta and studied Rabindrasangeet (the songs of Rabindranath Tagore) with Rajeswar Bhattacharya. Later that year, I moved to Philadelphia from Maui and met some fellow Kirtan lovers who helped me record this song. We are singing here in Bengali language, and the English lyrics which I created to help Western audiences to experience these songs
